We believe that dentistry is also an art form What is more beautiful than the lovely smile celebrated by artists down through the ages. We have created a dental practice dedicated to making your smile as beautiful as possible.

Composite Bonding

Dental bonding is a technique that has been used in cosmetic dentistry for many years and can transform your smile in just a single visit. The process involves the skillful/artistic use of the correct amount and colour of "dental composite", which is a mouldable material with a paste-like consitency made from synthetic resins and a variety of fillers, depending on the type used. Bonding is used for a variety of cosmetic dental procedures, including..

  • Filling dental cavites - "white fillings"
  • Replacing metal or amalgam fillings
  • Repairing broken and chipped teeth
  • Closing gaps between teeth (diastamas)
  • Reshaping teeth
  • Smile makeovers - composite veneers (although porcelain veneers are the better option for this)

Composite tooth bonding is a cosmetic dentistry technique that can do beautiful things for your smile. Dental composite is made of particles such as silicon dioxide or quartz, bound with a tough synthetic resin. It is blended so that it comes in different shades, toughness, and translucencies and so that, with the proper artistic eye on the part of the dentist, it can match your teeth.

Dental composite bonding is a popular choice for fillings because the material can match the shade, translucency and even the texture of your own natural teeth and provides a much better result than old amalgam/silver fillings, which can be unsightly when you smile. Cosmetic dentists often replace old metal fillings with tooth-coloured composite.

Composite fillings are also done in back teeth. Although the meterial of choice for these teeth is silver amalgam. This is because composite used is brittle and thus liable to fracture under chewing too. Also, The success rate of a composite filling is much higher in situation where there is complete isolation from saliva, which is difficult to achive in the posterior teeth.

Bleaching or Teeth Whitening

Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. A child's deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. Certain antibiotic medications (like tetracycline) can also lead to teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel.

There are two methods to whiten teeth: bleaching gel and laser bleaching. Traditionally, at-home whitening is done with bleaching gel which is applied to the teeth using thin guard trays. Oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide are utilized to lighten the shade of the tooth. The oxidizing agent penetrates the porosities in the rod-like crystal structure of enamel and oxidizes interprismatic stain deposits; over a period of time, the dentin layer, lying underneath the enamel, is also bleached

Tooth discolouration are of two types, internal & external.

  1. External discolouration(EXTRINSIC STAINS) This is staining of the tooth surface. Some sources of extrinsic stains are cigarettes, cigars, paan masala , coffee, tea, or foods that contain a lot of spices. This type of staining can sometimes be removed by good tooth brushing habits or by professional oral prophylaxis (scaling).
  2. Internal discolouration(INTRINSIC STAINS)This means the stain occurs from within the tooth. This type of stain cannot be removed by brushing and flossing and sometimes bleaching may not be effective. Some causes of intrinsic staining are injury to the tooth, certain medications (such as tetracycline) taken during tooth formation stage or an excess fluoride ingested during the formation of teeth.
  • Dentist supervised "at-home"
  • "In-office"

Teeth whitening bleach contains varied amounts of carbamide peroxide components. carbamide Peroxide is element which can successfully whiten your teeth. Teeth whitening bleach can be used both at home and in the dentist’s office. It is better to undergo the procedure in the dentist’s office for best and quick results. Teeth bleaching done at home can turn out to be a very messy and time consuming affair. Bleaching is a safe and effective procedure as research has shown that carbamide peroxide does not damage teeth & gum. The ADA(American dental association) has given its approval on its use.
